Linda Yaccarino is just what Musk needs at a time when the microblogging site has been mired in multiple crises by multiple episodes of layoffs and repeated updates in its software…..all called for by Musk himself. Linda who headed the global advertising department at NBC Universal will take the CEO role and closely work with the owner who will be both the CTO and executive chairman.

The tech mogul also heralded a transformation of the company into X,  Musk’s long-cherished moniker for an ‘everything app’.

‘Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app,’ Musk tweeted.

Yaccarino “will focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology,” Musk said on Friday. “Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app,” he added.

Insights into the latest development reveal Yaccarino will now need to stitch loopholes that were created as Musk deboarded 75 percent of his staff majorly belonging to sales and partnerships. Yaccarino seems to be a perfect choice to lure the advertisers that ditched the platform triggered by Musk’s erratic content moderation decisions and his own tweets. She brings longstanding relationships with major advertisers and a strong reputation within the corporate community.

The controversial subscription plan- which has been drawing less than 1 percent of the user base is also another challenge Yaccarino will have to overcome.

Changes the App may undergo under the new CEO

  • Facilitate payments
  • Phone and video calls- a new feature that would enable calling.
  • Broadcasting and newsletters
  • Dating

Yaccarino, who stepped down earlier on Friday as the ad sales chief at NBCUniversal, oversaw an international team of about 2,000 employees. She worked at NBCUniversal for nearly 12 years, rising through the executive ranks to become chairman of global advertising and partnerships in 2020.

Before NBCUniversal, Yaccarino served as an advertising executive at Turner Broadcasting Company for almost 20 years.
