Kanpur: Reports of chain snatchings have recently been reported as regular occurrences in Uttar Pradesh, and the latest addition to the list is Kanpur. They had not apprehended culprits in the chain-snatching case of a retired teacher when another criminal act took place in the Kalyanpur police station.
On Thursday morning, there was a lady named Chitra Mishra who had gone to worship the Banyan tree by offering her prayers, and immediately after that, she was heading home when two bike lifters fled away with her chain. There are blackout zones and CCTV cameras, and the police promptly arrived. They started analysing the CCTV footage with the aim of arresting the people responsible.
Chitra Mishra mentioned that they live in Kalyanpur Kala as they had come to visit their maternal home; they have their in-laws in Khora, Nawabganj. Her husband, Vivek Mishra, is a private teacher and is currently the divisional president of Dharwad teachers cell BJP. On Thursday, Chitra had gone to perform the worship of the Banyan tree at a place called ‘Panki Road’ with her elder sister, Rekha.
When Chitra and Rekha were coming back home, they had worship; after that, they both were attacked by two bike-riding thieves near the All Mega Mart alley. Chira’s chain was caught by one of the thieves, who immediately sped towards the Kalyanpur crossing. The police reviewed the video surveillance of the event, and it came out that there were two thieves, one of whom was riding a bike and wearing a helmet.
ACP of Kalyanpur paid his courtesy visit, and during the conversation, Chitra complained, and a case was registered. The police have begun trying to identify the suspects using the footage produced by the CCTV cameras.
Some of the recent events, such as chain snatching, have recently become rampant within Uttar Pradesh, with most cases being recorded in Kanpur, and have aggravated the feeling among people.
