Saharanpur Police captured a youth from Uttar Pradesh for causing damage to a public area. After a video of the boy was published on social media, it rapidly went viral, with people demanding that the authorities take action against him. The local police quickly intervened and apprehended the suspect. Sachin Gupta shared the video on X.
Gupta captioned the video, “In chase of reels, these youngsters are also harming public property. They should be arrested, and the damages and reparations should be paid. The Instagram handle is ‘Faisal Badmash’. The video shows the youngster breaking a sign that says, “I love Gangoh.” Gangoh is a town in Saharanpur. The video shows the child destroying the sign with a stick.
After receiving the video, the Saharanpur police issued an update on the microblogging site, noting that “in connection with this case, the accused has been arrested by Gangoh Police Station and sent to jail.” Earlier, a guy had been detained by the Fazilka police for breaking the Udham Singh martyr statue in Abohar. The police have identified two suspects: Davinder Singh, also known as Bhindar, and Jaggi, also known as Harpal Singh. Bhindar was arrested, and efforts were being made to apprehend the remaining defendants. Miscreants threw the martyr’s statue after Punjab ministers Gurmeet Singh Khuddian and Baljeet Kaur unveiled it on December 26, 2023.
According to Fazilka SSP Manjeet Singh Dhesi, the suspects were located after an assessment of surrounding CCTVs, prompting the filing of a complaint under IPC sections 379, 426, and 427, as well as section 3 of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act.
