Lucknow: Eight days after being stolen, an Ashtadhatu idol of Radha-Krishna was returned to the Gau Ghat Ashram temple in Shringverpur, Prayagraj. The idol was accompanied by an apology letter from the thief expressing his deep remorse.

Citing the nightmare and his son’s illness as reasons for returning the idol, he sought forgiveness from the temple authorities. The idol had great historical significance. A week earlier, it was stolen from Shri Ram-Janki Temple at Gau Ghat Ashram, where the thief had broken the lock and taken the idol.

Repenting, the thief wrote an apology letter and kept it near the highway along with the stolen goods. The stolen goods have now returned to their place. The thief has admitted his mistake in his apology letter and has written that after the theft, he is having nightmares and his son’s health has also deteriorated. He is ashamed of his actions and wants to repent his mistake by apologizing to everyone.

This unique and shocking theft incident is from the Nawabganj police station area of ​​the Ganganagar zone of Prayagraj. Here, on the night of 22 September, someone stole the Ashtadhatu idol of Radha Krishna from Ram Janaki temple situated on the banks of Ganga at Gau Ghat of the pilgrimage site Shringaverpur.

This theft from the temple created a sensation. When nothing was found, the priest of the temple, Mahant Jayaram Das, lodged an FIR in Nawabganj police station. The police worked hard in this, tried very hard but could not get any information about the thief and the stolen idols.
