The spices of 16 companies including Goldie-Ashok are not edible, their samples have failed the standards after which the government has banned the sale of these spices. UP Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) raided these spice companies in Kanpur in May this year and sent their samples for testing. The report of which has come out, in which these spices have not met the standards.
UP Food Safety and Drug Administration said that samples of 35 products of different spices of 16 companies based in Kanpur were sent for testing. Reports of 23 products have been issued. According to this many products of 16 companies are not edible.
Insecticides and pesticides have been found in spices of 16 companies including Goldie and Ashok Masala in a recent investigation. After this information came to light, the sale of spices of these companies was immediately banned. Goldie and Ashok spices, which are used in every household, are especially popular among low-income families. These companies usually provide spices in small packets of 5-10 rupees, which are widely used in homes.
This is the reason why FSDA has banned the sale of these spice products. Officials of the Food Safety and Drugs Department said that dangerous pesticides were found in 16 samples and microbacteria in 7. This is the first time that deadly bacteria have been found in spices in such a large quantity.
