During his rally in Kanpur on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi found a young child enthusiastically waving for a good part of the rally. PM Modi stopped speaking briefly to smile at the child and say, “Look at how long the child’s hands have been up in the air. Later, you’ll notice that your shoulders are uncomfortable. In the video circulating on social media, the child nodded and smiled to confirm he was safe, as Prime Minister Modi told him to put his hands down more gently. The audience’s laughter and applause that night underlined how well Prime Minister Modi can relate to people from all generations.
This morning, PM Modi attended two ceremonies for big projects worth more than ₹47,600 crore in Kanpur. An important step forward was marking the start of construction on the underground section for the Kanpur Metro Rail project. Station stops on this new link run from Chunniganj to Kanpur Central and feature Chunniganj, Bada Chauraha, Naveen Market, Nayaganj and Kanpur Central stations.
The new expansion will allow metro users to visit well-known city spots such as Lal Imli, Z Square Mall, Green Park Stadium, Parade Ground, Book Market and Somdutt Plaza. The goal is to make public transportation better, lessen road traffic and give residents a quicker and safer travel experience.
While giving his address, PM Modi brought up national security, mentioning Operation Sindoor, the military response to terrorist groups in Pakistan after the soldiers were killed in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. “The bravery of our armed forces forced Pakistani Army to ask for a ceasefire,” he pointed out and also that “the world noticed our women as the fierce fighter jets who carried out Operation Sindoor.”
