Central Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, embarked on a visit to Mirzapur on Friday. During his visit, he announced the construction of a new highway and a flyover connecting Mirzapur and Prayagraj.
Minister Gadkari commenced his day by visiting the Vindhyachal region, offering prayers at the Vindhyavasini temple. Subsequently, he reached the venue at the Polytechnic campus. Here, Gadkari participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for a 6-lane Ganga bridge and bypass road, with an estimated cost of 1708 crore rupees. This significant infrastructure project aims to enhance connectivity in the region. During a public address, Gadkari emphasized the dual role of farmers as both providers of sustenance and energy, underlining the importance of recognizing their contribution to the nation.
It is noteworthy that the construction includes a bypass highway stretching from Mirzapur to Prayagraj and further extending to Pratapgarh, costing over 1750 crore rupees. Minister Gadkari highlighted the strategic significance of these projects, contributing to the development of national highways and fostering economic growth in the region.
In his address, Gadkari expressed a vision beyond urban areas, stating that the focus is not only on smart cities but also on the development of smart villages. He elaborated on the implementation of green corridors amidst fields in villages, emphasizing the creation of a network of roads connecting rural landscapes. This initiative aims to weave an intricate web of roads across agricultural fields in Uttar Pradesh, facilitating efficient transportation and connectivity.
