Lucknow: On Itaunja Mahona road in Lucknow, a truck lost control and crashed into various shops and houses, destroying them. The three who reportedly lost their lives first and five who were hospitalized confirm initial reports.
“This is the busy road where the truck suddenly went out of control and hit nearby establishments,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) North, Gopal Krishna Chaudhary. An accident occurred on the Itaunja-Mahona road, and it is alleged that a truck lost control and crashed into some shops. Three people are dead, and five people are injured. We can confirm that police force and SDRF are present at the spot,” he said in an official statement.
Police officers and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) personnel were immediately rushed to the place. No one was left trapped under the debris, and a swift rescue operation was conducted to make sure nobody was hurt. All individuals that were in the crash are accounted for, officials said.
The truck involved in the accident has been taken into authorities’ custody, and further legal action is underway. The cause of the crash will be investigated, and a mechanical failure, driver negligence, or other factor will be determined by a forensic team arriving at the scene.
According to the ministry, the injured victims are ‘being treated at a local hospital’; however, no further details about their condition are available. As police officials assure, investigation is underway for a thorough one and proper steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future.
