Hathras: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met the sufferers in the Hathras stampede incident today. He said that a judicial inquiry headed by a retired High Court judge has been initiated. Further, he promised that those responsible for the lapse will be punished under the ambit of the law. CM Yogi Adityanath posted a video and informed the update.
The Uttar Pradesh Police filed an FIR on Wednesday accusing the organizers of mismanagement of the event. However, it did not include Baba Narayan Hari who is also known as Saakar Vishwa Hari Bhole Baba.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Etah, Rajesh Kumar Singh, who is closely investigating the incident said, “Twenty-seven bodies have arrived in Etah Hospital which includes 23 women, three children, and a man”.
Women Commission Chairperson Rekha Sharma reached the Hathras District Hospital to meet the victims of the accident and enquired about their condition. She further confirmed that strict action will be taken against those who exploit women in Satsang.
For the unversed, on Tuesday, 116 people were killed and several others were injured in a stampede that happened during Bhole Baba Satsang by local preacher Narayan Sakar Vishwa Hari. Later on Wednesday the death toll rised to 121. The devotees who lost their lives belonged from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan. A preliminary probe indicated multiple factors that led to the incident.
