Lucknow. In a recent inspection by the Food Safety Department, 36 samples of 12 major food brands of the city were taken, most of which did not meet the quality standards. The report found stale ingredients, bacteria, adulterated products and gross negligence in cleanliness.

KFC Saharaganj: Here dishes were found to be fried in old oil. After which a notice has been issued.

McDonald’s Hazratganj: Synthetic colours mixed in fried dishes.

Dastarkhwan Hazratganj: Stale mutton, smelly gravy, shop sealed.

Pizza Hut: Non-food grade material found in sauce. Notice has been issued to it too.

Burger King: Bacteria in mayonnaise.

Domino’s: New sticker found pasted on the expiry date.

Chhappan Bhog: Adulteration in mawa, investigation underway.

Haldiram’s: Use of inferior quality oil in snacks. Department has issued a warning.

Wow Momo: Momo’s water stinks. Notice issued for negligence

The Food Safety Department has sent notices to all these establishments. The process of taking strict action against many establishments has been started. The department has appealed to consumers to immediately report any suspicious food items and be cautious while eating.
