A major fire engulfed a private hospital in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday, which led to panic among the patients and staff. Efforts were immediately initiated to secure the situation. That plan was put into operation, and the firefighting team continued to fight effectively in order to stop the fire from spreading. Luckily, there were no deaths recorded, even though the event sparked widespread fear regarding the measures and readiness of certain facilities, such as hospital, towards fires.

This incident happened only a few days after a huge fire broke out in the basement of an electronic equipment manufacturing company located at Sector 65, Noida, on December 22. The fire that engulfed the identified company at A-113 saw many products worth crores of rupees go up in flames. The fire department got the information regarding the fire at around 8 a.m., and 17 fire tenders were cordoned off at the site, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone II) Shakti Mohan Awasthi.

The fire was only eventually extinguished after a period of almost five hours of fight by about a hundred firefighters from FEU and other departments. According to Chief Fire Officer Pradeep Kumar Choubey, the fire could have started from sparking from electrical equipment and batteries stored in the basement. The batteries which were sometimes exploding because of the fire, presented immense problems to the firefighters during the conduct of the operation.

Thankfully, the accident was in Sector 65 on a Sunday when no workers were in the company, which saved lives. However, the extent of the harm from the fire has not yet been determined, and the accident underlines the importance of highly effective fire security measures in industrial and business environments.

The two incidents show the need for adequate fire prevention measures and structural check-ups so that they do not happen in sensitive buildings. It is hoped that necessary authorities will go through the sanctuary and assess different aspects of fire safety that should help prevent such accidents in the future.
