Ayodhya: A big scam has been unveiled in Ramnagari Ayodhya. All the councilors of Ayodhya have demanded an investigation from the Municipal Commissioner. Poor quality decorative lights were to be installed in 12 wards of Ayodhya Dham. A tender was issued for 12 wards for Rs 76 crore.
The councilors of Ayodhya have opened a front against this scam. They said that the entire decorative lights in the premises are of poor quality, if there is no investigation, they will stage a sit-in protest in Ayodhya. Reportedly, three firms acquired the lighting work in Ayodhya by applying through a tender.
In the name of installing poles, they damaged the roads by cutting them. The contract date of all three firms has expired last month. The poles and lights installed in the wards have been damaged. There was a demand for an investigation of the work done by the three firms. This is a matter of the tenure of the then Municipal Commissioner Vishal Singh. The councilors have demanded an investigation. The councilors said that if action is not taken, they will protest.
Earlier in 2019, CM Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh government spents Rs. 133 crores for lighting up 5.5 lakh diyas. With this, the cost of lighting up each diya becomes Rs. 2400 and is not justifiable.
