All India Kisan Congress, the farmer’s wing of the Congress Party, said that they would be holding a major protest march termed the ‘Kisan-Mazdoor Samman Evam Nyay Yatra ’ beginning from the 18th of January 2025 in Uttar Pradesh. This was arrived at after a meeting held by the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) on Friday led by the chairperson Ajay Rai. The meeting revolved around the arrangements for the proposed yatra and plans to execute the entire plan in the state.

While addressing the meeting, Ajay Rai targeted the center as well as the UP state government for ‘betrayal of farmers, laborers, workers, women farmers, and artisans, saying oppression of these sections of society has increased. He recalled that the Centre, during the farmers’ movement, assured a legal tender to MSP for all farm producers, but as per Rai, the government has little or nothing to say on this critical matter.

All India Kisan Congress’ National Vice President Akhilesh Shukla said that the yatra will be started on 18 January 2025 from the Loni border in Ghaziabad. It shall be conducted in each of the districts on a pre-planned time schedule, and the yatra will be coordinated with the local and national leadership. At the district level itself, 300 Kisan Nyay Yodhas will be identified to spearhead the campaign. After the completion of the yatra, the grand assembly of participants of all seventy-five districts is going to be organized in this very camp in which around twenty-two thousand five hundred kisan yodhas are expected to be present.

Shukla further revealed the future agenda of the Congress and said the Congress wants to create 300 Kisan Nyay Yodhas in each assembly segment by the next year. The All India Kisan Congress intends to hold a large farmers’ conference prior to the 2027 assembly elections to achieve 1,20,900 Kisan Yodhas.
