The Yogi government presented its third budget for the second term in the Vidhan Sabha today. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna unveiled a budget of Rs 7,36,437.71 crores. In response, Samajwadi Party chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav expressed his views on the budget. He emphasized that the budget should not just be in name but reflect tangible outcomes.
Akhilesh Yadav remarked that the BJP government consistently claims each time that it will present the biggest budget. However, he stressed that the budget should have some substantial impact. He expressed hope that the budget would focus on doubling farmers’ income, generating employment for the youth, and ensuring the safety of the state’s residents. He questioned what the 90% of the population, which he defined, could expect from the budget. He highlighted that all budgets in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh have been centered around the top 10% of the population.
