Samajwadi Party Member of Parliament in the Lower House of Parliament Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday raised anguish over the barbarous attacks in Sambhal in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, referring to it as a “well-choreographed conspiracy” to destabilize the civilization in the area. According to Yadav, the ruling party and its allies were acting improperly while alleged that the excavation of mosques was an attempt to dismantle the communal brotherhood of the nation.

The latest Sambhal case, Yadav said, comprised a meticulous design to disrupt the unity that was once characteristic of the area, while the talks about digging up mosques, either planned or sponsored by the BJP and its cohorts, tore apart the social fabric of India. He said that such actions would create seeds of destruction of the concept of unity and communal harmony in India.

Earlier, Akhilesh Yadav criticized the Sambhal administration, claiming that they act like BJP workers instead of civil servants. He also said that incidents of violence in Sambhal were staged by BJP to divert attention from other important matters. “The officers in Sambhal are working unethically, they are working as if they work for the BJP party.” Yadav said that this incident is part of the BJP’s plan to distract people from more pressing issues.

The violence happened on November 24 when local residents attacked a team of officials who were assessing the structure of a Mughal-era mosque in Sambhal on the court’s directions. This after the survey was conducted following the petition of some people who suggested that the mosque was constructed from the debris of a temple. Four people were reported to have died when the infuriated mob pelted the survey team with stones.

Also, Yadav addressed the arrest of Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das in Bangladesh on charges of sedition.
