Lucknow: Samajwadi Party Chief and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav stated that the BJP is actively working to make the poor the pawns of its politics. Accusing the BJP government of creating an atmosphere of fear and intimidation through its agencies, Yadav criticized its approach towards national security. He cited an instance where the Samajwadi Party proposed a six-lane road from Gwalior to Lipulekh to swiftly transport troops and military equipment in case of a China-like incursion. However, the government opted for a single lane, raising concerns about the feasibility of rapid military deployment and access to the spiritual Mansarovar route.
