Unnao: At least forty people were injured, and seven were killed in a fatal crash on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning. The accident happened late Tuesday at 12:45 AM in the Usrahar section of Uttar Pradesh.
The occurrence was the unfortunate accident of a Nagaland number plate double-decker bus on its way to Delhi, having stopped at Rae Bareli. The accident occurred when the bus ran over an accused car, moving on the wrong side of the road, which was coming from Lucknow to Agra. Consequent to the crash, the bus went off the road and overturned partially into a ditch on the side of the road.
From police reports, it is evident that the bus was carrying sixty people during the occurrence of the accident. Out of the mentioned passengers, four lost their lives, while the remaining received injuries. The car going in the opposite direction was occupied by three people who all perished in the said accident. In an interview, Dr. Vivek Chaudhary, CMO of Saifai PGI, said that six to seven of them are in very bad condition.
Initial findings reveal that the car driver was dozing off before drifting off the correct lane to cause the accident. SSP Sanjay Kumar Verma said that all the necessary and possible rescue operations are being carried out, and efforts are being made to provide the best medical assistance to the injured people. The authorities have been useful in doing everything possible to make sure that the affected individuals receive adequate treatment and that all the relevant procedures are followed to help the affected victims.
During this grim incident, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath condoled the loss of lives and ordered the officials to speed up relief operations and extend the best medical aid to the injured. He has also stressed the procedural and rapid approaches for dealing with the consequences of the occurrence.
