A goods train carrying iron ore derailed in Telangana’s Peddapalli district late Tuesday night, leading to cancellation and diversion of several passenger services. South Central Railway (SCR) officials informed about the derailment of eleven coaches of goods trains between Raghavapuram and Ramagundam stations.
According to an official statement on Wednesday, SCR canceled 20 passenger trains, partially canceled four more, and rerouted 10 to other routes as a result of the derailment. In order to control the congestion brought on by the incident, three passenger trains are being regulated, and two have been rescheduled.
SCR officials are sending teams to clear the site and fix any damage in an effort to speed up the track restoration process. As soon as possible, train movement will resume after the track is restored, according to an SCR spokesperson.
