As the Maharashtra assembly elections for Worli are due in a few weeks now, Rajya Sabha MP for Mumbai Sanjay Nirupam, alongside Shiv Sena candidate for the Worli assembly seat Milind Deora, reiterated his concern for the constitutionally mandated justice to the electorate of Worli.
Deora filed his nomination on Tuesday and is among the strong contenders for the Shiv Sena (UBT) sitting MLA Aaditya Thackeray. Which indicated his stand that his campaign is purely political related not driven by personal grudges.
Deora stated, “This is not a personal fight; it is a political fight. The only goal we have in our mind is to bring justice to the people of Worli and take the progressive future of Mumbai and Maharashtra with good governance to the people of the state.” He denounced the pessimistic tone of the opinions that he said have been directed at the government in the last two to three years, promising to dispel them. Deora further said that CM Eknath Shinde was committed enough to solve the Worli people’s problems.
On the local MLA Aaditya Thackeray’s performance, Deora shared his disappointment. “I had many expectations when he first assumed office as the MLA for the South Mumbai five years ago. Unfortunately, he has not met those expectations for me and the citizens of Worli,” he said. While not directly maligning Thackeray, Deora delved into how the opportunities today were lost due to Thackeray’s leadership.
In the coming weeks, as the campaign gets heated up, Deora plans to point out such aspects and state his plans for the constituency. He is confident that the voters will see the desirability of change and is ready to steer the change process alone. As we near the elections, the political activities in Maharashtra are gradually heating up. With a stressed focus on delivering results, Deora may be seen as a magic man of change by many voters.
