The Pink City of Jaipur has now been caught in a heinous and elusive case which has drawn nasty shocks to families and the police. It took only two days to disappear in mysterious circumstances six minor children of various locations. The only thing more horrifying about the case is that they are all related (as brothers or cousins), and this has left the investigators to think that this might not be a simple case involving the disappearance of children, but a well-laid cover-up.
On 14 August, in the Sanganer area, three boys- Nitin Singh (9), Mohit Singh (10), and their cousin Armaan (9) went missing. In the morning, the boys had set out to school, and never reached there. Their anxious families started looking around when they failed to come back in the evening. At home later a note was found later telling the family not to seek them out in the following five years. The eerie message added to the mystery. Later CCTV camera footage showed the three boys in the locality of Gandhinagar railway station, and interestingly, the boys were not in school uniforms at the time; instead, they had changed to other attire, indicating or suggesting a pre-planned action.
On the following day, August 15th (when the two other cousins, namely Sanjay Singh and Sameer Singh, were missing), two more persons in the Karni Vihar locality went missing. They were last spotted purchasing snacks and cold beverages at a bakery shop where they informed the proprietor that Kuldeep Gurjar would pay. Since then, this name appears to be the center of the police investigation. About the same period, another child, a 15-year-old Abu, vanished in Ramganj. The police, later on, found out that Kuldeep Gurjar used to reside behind the home of the children approximately four years prior to the occurrence of the incident, and potentially, he was still in contact with the family.
Six children are missing, a note that has been left, which raises police suspicion, altered attire, and a strange, abusive phone call; thus, police suspect the involvement of a larger network or gang. The hypotheses go as far as abduction to human trafficking.
