The official announcement regarding the Rajya Sabha elections in 2024 is expected to be released on February 8th. In Rajasthan, three vacant seats will be filled through elections scheduled for April 3rd, 2024. These vacancies were created due to the retirement of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Union Minister Bhupender Yadav, as well as the resignation of Dr. Kirodi Lal Meena after being elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly.

As per Chief Election Officer Praveen Gupta, this notification will mark the beginning of the process. Candidates interested in contesting can submit their nominations from February 8th to February 15th, 2024, according to a press release issued by the Election Commission of India.

Gupta also mentioned that scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on February 16th, 2024, and candidates have until February 20th, 2024, to withdraw their names if they choose to do so. He emphasized that all aspects of the Rajya Sabha election process will be conducted within the premises of the State Legislative Assembly.

Additionally, he outlined the schedule indicating that voting will occur between 9 AM and 4 PM on February 27th if necessary. The counting of votes is scheduled for the day starting at 5 PM.
The entire election process is projected to be completed by February 29 2024.

This upcoming Rajya Sabha election is of significance due to the retirements of individuals and political developments that have resulted in vacancies.
