In the presence of Chief Minister Diya Kumari, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on Monday in Rajasthan between the Women and Child Development Department and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) India. The signing ceremony took place at the secretariat and involved the Secretary of the Women and Child Development Department, Krishna Kunal, and the Executive Director of CIFF India, Manjula Singh.
Under this MOU, CIFF will spend a budget of ₹350 crores over the next five years in collaboration with various departments, including the Women and Child Development Department, in the state. This allocation aims to address issues related to the nutrition of adolescents, women, and children. The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized the commitment of the state government towards the holistic development of women, children, and adolescent girls.
The Deputy Chief Minister urged CIFF representatives to enhance the efficiency of their team at the block level to achieve positive results at the grassroots level. He also encouraged CIFF to closely monitor the nutritional quality across the state and provide feedback for continuous improvement. Additionally, he suggested that CIFF representatives should inform authorities if any changes are needed in the recipe of nutritional supplements.
The Secretary explained that CIFF, in collaboration with the Women and Child Development Department, will work on developing and strengthening programs aimed at improving nutrition for adolescents, women, and children.
It’s worth mentioning that this MOU, which was originally signed for a duration of 7 years in 2015, has now been extended for an additional 5 years. The signing event was attended by Director Cumulative Child Development Services OP Bunkar and Additional Director Nutrition Lokesh Sahal.
The collaborative efforts between the Rajasthan government and CIFF underscore the shared commitment to advancing nutrition and developmental programs for the welfare of women and children in the state.
