On Sunday, during the medical entrance exam in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, five accomplices and an MBBS student who posed as a NEET candidate were taken into custody by the authorities. Research uncovered a plot headed by the student’s college friend, Ravi Meena, who was accused of taking Rs 10 lakh from the real candidate, Rahul Gurjar. Invigilators at the exam center saw Abhishek Gupta pretending to be Rahul Gurjar, they quickly called the police.
During the first round of investigation, Abhishek Gupta admitted to having five accomplices stationed in the car outside the examination location. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Aklesh Kumar said that those who were involved have been taken into custody, and further investigation will be conducted.
Police named Amit, Dayaram, and Suraj Singh as the other convicts in addition to Gupta, Meena, and Gurjar. Simultaneously, candidates for the NEET-UG complained about the way their question papers were distributed at a Sawai Madhopur center. There have been claims that applicants who chose English as their medium have been sent papers in Hindi, and vice versa.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) acknowledged the “incorrect distribution” of question papers by the center superintendent in a public statement in response to parental concern over accused police violence during protests. The senior director at NTA Sadhna Parashar underlined the organization’s dedication to justice and outlined preventive measures. About 120 applicants who were impacted by the incident are being revisited to make sure it won’t interfere with their academic endeavors.
