Udaipur: BJP’s National President, JP Nadda, engaged in discussions with the party’s key figures during his visit to Udaipur on Monday. Concurrently, several prominent Congress leaders also launched the Congress Jan Jagran Abhiyan campaign in Baran today. Notably, Colonel Rathore, BJP’s candidate from the Jaipur Rural constituency and the Jhotwara Vidhan Sabha seat initiated his election campaign with a visit to Dev Darshan. However, he encountered opposition from a group of individuals carrying black flags.
Despite the protests, Colonel Rathore halted his vehicle and attempted to offer sweets to the dissenting group. When they remained unswayed, he embraced them, effectively diffusing the opposition. Colonel Rathore, who is featured on the BJP’s first candidate list from Jhotwara, commenced his election campaign with a visit to Jwala Mata and on the way, encountered the protesters with black flags.
Meanwhile, in Baran, the Congress has made the Eastern Rajasthan Canal Project (ERCP) a focal issue to counter the BJP. During an address to a public gathering, State President Govind Singh Dotasra remarked that the Prime Minister had opposed the ERCP project.
Additionally, a few days ago, Gori Nagauri, a dancer and model known for her claims of entering the political arena, held hands with the Aam Aadmi Party. She hails from Medta in Nagaur district and is renowned for her stint on Big Boss. Her announcement has sparked speculation that Gori Medta may contest for a Vidhan Sabha seat in Rajasthan.
