Jaipur: The upcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections, set for November 25, have received the Congress party’s manifesto. Led by National President Mallikarjun Kharge, the party has made promises, including a caste-based census, in the state. They have also pledged to create four lakh government jobs, offer ten lakh employment opportunities and provide interest loans of up to two lakh to farmers. The manifesto further commits to enacting laws for Minimum Support Price (MSP) and ensuring gas cylinders are available at ₹400 in Rajasthan. Additionally, Congress vows to enhance the coverage of the Chiranjeevi Suraksha Bima life insurance scheme from ₹25 lahks to ₹50 lahks.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has expressed confidence in the progress witnessed under Congress rule in the state. He highlighted an increase of 46.48% in per capita income over the five years. Gehlot emphasized that while Rajasthan ranked 30th in per capita income during BJP’s governance period, it now stands at 12th position. Praising the state’s GDP growth, which reached its level this decade at 19.50% in 2020-21.

Congress leader Sachin Pilot praised the nature of the manifesto and how it caters to all sections of society. He also expressed optimism about Congress securing a majority and forming a government, in Rajasthan.

State elections hold importance, and the manifestos have a significant impact, on swaying voters’ decisions as political parties present their vision and pledges, for the state’s progress.
