Jaipur: With the swearing-in ceremony of Rajasthan new CM Bhajan Lal Sharma and Deputy CM Diya Kumari, along with the oath-taking of Prem Chand Bairwa, attention now turns to the formation of the cabinet. The names of potential ministers, including Kirori Meena, Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Baba Balaknath, Kali Charan Saraf, and Anita Bhadel, are currently circulating in political discussions.
The BJP seems to follow a similar formula for cabinet formation in states where they secured a surprising victory. In Rajasthan, where the total number of seats in the Legislative Assembly is 200, approximately 15% would constitute 30 ministers. The first phase may see the swearing-in of 12 or 13 ministers, with Kirori Meena, the elected MLA from Sawai Madhopur, being a prominent figure. Kirori Meena has been a legislator six times and a Member of Parliament.
Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, elected from the Jhotwara constituency in Jaipur, is another notable candidate. Rathore, a former Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports at the central level, brings both administrative and political experience.
Baba Balaknath, elected from the Tijara constituency in Alwar, is often referred to as the “Yogi of Rajasthan.” He has previously served as a Member of Parliament from Alwar.
Kali Charan Saraf, a seven-time MLA from Malviya Nagar, is known for his consistent victories in the elections.
Anita Bhadel, representing South Ajmer, has been elected as an MLA for the fifth consecutive term. She previously served as the Minister for Women and Child Development in the BJP government.
Other potential candidates for ministerial positions include Pushpendra Singh Ranawat from Bali in Pali district and Pratap Singh Singhvi, who could add to the cabinet’s strength. The list might also feature Dr. Vishwanath Meghwal, Jogeshwar Garg, Siddhi Kumari, Shrichand Kriplani, Ajay Singh Kilak, Deepti Maheshwari, Otararam Dewasi, Sandeep Sharma, Mahant Bal Mukundacharya, Chandra Bhan Singh Akya, and Mahant Pratap Puri.
As the cabinet formation unfolds, the inclusion of these leaders showcases the BJP’s strategic approach to governance in states where they have gained significant political ground.
