Kota: The Western Central Railway has decided to provide uniforms and safety equipment to helpers and maintainers in the Mechanical, Electrical, TRD, Signal, and Telecommunication departments. Additionally, every six months, safety shoes, a three-cell LED/rechargeable torch annually, and dress allowance will be provided.

Narendra Malvi, Assistant Divisional Secretary of the Union, revealed that during a meeting with the General Manager of Western Central Railway Employees Union on December 6th and 7th in Jabalpur, the issue was raised. He explained that the Railway Board had issued orders regarding this matter in 2019, but the compliance was lacking in the Western Central Railway.

Following discussions with the General Manager, the Headquarters issued orders on December 12th to provide uniforms and safety equipment. The initiative aims to enhance the well-being and safety of railway personnel engaged in various technical departments. The provision of specialized gear, adjusted to weather conditions, reflects the railway’s commitment to the welfare of its workforce.

This move aligns with broader efforts in the railway sector to prioritize employee welfare and safety. By ensuring that maintenance and operational staff are equipped with appropriate clothing and protective gear, the Western Central Railways takes a significant step toward fostering a secure and conducive work environment. Such measures contribute to the overall efficiency and morale of the railway workforce, emphasizing the importance of occupational safety in critical infrastructure sectors.
