Jaipur: As the Rajasthan Assembly election approaches on November 25, political parties, including Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, are gearing up for the polls. Priyanka Gandhi recently addressed a rally in Sagwada, Rajasthan, where she invoked the Gayatri Mantra and criticized the Modi government. She emphasized that voters must decide whether those seeking votes in the name of religion truly work for the people. Gandhi accused PM Modi of conducting rallies in corners and suggested that it seems like he is searching for a chief minister rather than engaging with the public. She highlighted the significance of the day, offering Diwali greetings to the people of Sagwada and noting its importance for farmers.
Furthermore, Priyanka Gandhi criticized PM Modi, alleging that during the farmers’ protest, he did not engage with them, but when elections approached, he repealed the laws. She accused the PM of focusing solely on elections and not the general public. Taking a dig at the BJP, she asserted that during elections, these parties mislead the public in the name of religion. Urging people not to fall for such tactics, she called for unwavering support for the Congress, known for its solid and thoughtful approach. She emphasized the need to break from tradition and enable the Congress to repeat its success in the state.
Speaking at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in the city during a public meeting in support of Congress candidates for the upcoming Assembly elections, Priyanka Gandhi urged people to compare the vision and development of the Congress-led government in Rajasthan with BJP-ruled states. She highlighted the relief measures taken by the Gehlot government during times of inflation and assured that if re-elected, the Congress would implement seven guarantees into law. She criticized the BJP for engaging in issue-less discourse during elections, diverting attention from development to peculiar and irrelevant stories.
It’s important to note that the Rajasthan Assembly election will witness voting for all 200 seats, with 199 seats in a single phase. Voters will cast their ballots on November 25 to elect representatives for the state legislature, and the election results are expected to be announced on December 3.
