Under the Lok Sabha Elections-2024, 161 nomination papers were submitted by 125 candidates on Thursday for 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of the second phase. So far, 216 candidates have submitted 304 nominations. On Thursday, 5 candidates submitted 5 nomination papers for the by-election in Bagidaura assembly constituency, so far 6 candidates have filed their nominations here.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that for the second phase on Thursday, 9 candidates each from Tonk-Sawai Madhopur, Jodhpur and Barmer, 10 from Ajmer, 11 from Pali, 12 from Chittorgarh and Bhilwara, 13 from Kota Lok Sabha constituency, 13 from Jalore. 19 candidates have filed their nominations, 8 from Rajsamand, 6 from Banswara, 4 from Jhalawar-Baran and 3 from Udaipur Lok Sabha constituency.

For the second phase, maximum 29 candidates have submitted 41 nominations from Jalore Lok Sabha constituency, followed by 25 candidates from Kota who have submitted 31 nomination papers. Also, least 7 candidates have submitted 12 nomination papers from Jhalawar-Baran Lok Sabha constituency. For the first phase, 17 candidates from Jaipur Rural had submitted 24 nomination papers. In the first phase, a total of 131 candidates had submitted 179 nomination papers, during scrutiny, 166 nominations of 124 candidates were found valid. 13 nominations of 7 candidates were rejected during scrutiny. A total of 345 candidates filed nominations in the Lok Sabha elections 2019, out of which a total of 249 candidates contested the elections after scrutiny and withdrawal of nominations.

Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that records of home voting have been registered under the Lok Sabha General Election-2024. 76,636 eligible voters have opted to vote from home for all 25 Lok Sabha constituencies. This includes 58,954 elderly and 17,682 disabled voters.

The election officer said that the facility of home voting is there as an option. The facility of home voting for Lok Sabha elections is available to such voters who are senior citizens above 85 years of age or specially abled persons with more than 40 percent disability. Booth level officers went door-to-door and gave information regarding this to the eligible voters to facilitate home voting. To opt for this facility, eligible voters filled Form 12-D and gave it to the BLO.
