Jaisalmer: In a significant development, the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department, along with the Rajasthan Rural Livelihoods Development Corporation (RAJIVIKA), is set to organise the Lakhpati Didi Summit on Saturday, December 23, in the Jaisalmer district, as part of President Draupadi Murmu’s primary visit.
The State Mission Director for RAJIVIKA highlighted that more than 5,000 women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs) will actively participate in the program. RAJIVIKA has notably impacted over 45 lakh women through SHGs, empowering them economically. The Lakhpatti Didi Summit aims to showcase the products of these SHGs, providing insights into the economic activities operated by RAJIVIKA.
Furthermore, the event will feature an exhibition of SHG products, illustrating the diverse economic activities supported by RAJIVIKA. Notably, the summit will also host stalls by non-governmental organizations, reflecting their collaboration with RAJIVIKA in enhancing livelihood development activities. This collaborative effort aims to foster sustainable livelihoods for women, contributing to their economic well-being.
During the program, SHG women will receive financial support from banks, including loans amounting to ₹100 crore, livelihood development assistance totaling ₹40 crore, and Rajasthan Women’s Fund loans of ₹10 crore. This financial aid is poised to uplift and empower the participating women, enabling them to further enhance their economic activities and ventures.
In addition to financial assistance, the summit will witness the distribution of scooters to RAJIVIKA Community Cadres, marking an initiative to enhance mobility and accessibility for those actively involved in promoting and sustaining livelihood development activities.
The Lakhpati Didi Summit serves as a platform to celebrate the achievements of SHGs and RAJIVIKA’s impactful interventions in empowering rural women economically. The event not only showcases the products of these women-led enterprises but also underscores the collaborative efforts between government and non-governmental organizations in fostering sustainable development and livelihoods in Rajasthan.
