Jaipur: Bharatiya Janata Party has won in Rajasthan. But the announcement regarding the Chief Minister face is yet to be made. Meanwhile, a controversy has come to light regarding the removal of the photo of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from a scheme of the state. In fact, as soon as the government changed in Rajasthan, the name and photo of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi has been removed from Indira Rasoi places where food is provided to the poor at Rs 8.
In this matter, Congress workers under the leadership of Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee member Charmesh Sharma have protested and demanded immediate re-installation of hoardings bearing the name and photo of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi at Indira Rasoi Yojana sites.
Along with this, Congress has also complained to the Governor in this matter. Congress leaders say that BJP has only got the majority, the swearing in of the new government and the formation of the cabinet has not been done formally. Even after this, photos and hoardings in the name of Indira Gandhi are being removed by the officials under the pressure of majority from Indira Rasoi Yojana sites.
State Congress Committee member Charmesh Sharma has written a letter to Governor Kalraj Mishra in this matter, terming it illegal to remove the name and photo of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi from Indira Rasoi Yojana sites.
Launched in 2020 by the Rajasthan government, the Indira Rasoi scheme has been a lifeline for the state’s underprivileged population. This initiative provides nutritious meals at a subsidized rate of just ₹8, ensuring that no one in Rajasthan goes hungry.
Running in over 515 kitchens across the state, Indira Rasoi caters to the needs of daily wage earners, migrant workers, students, and others who struggle to afford regular meals. The scheme offers a simple yet wholesome meal consisting of dal, roti, and vegetables, cooked under hygienic conditions.
More than just providing food, Indira Rasoi also promotes dignity and respect for the beneficiaries. The meals are served in a clean and comfortable environment, ensuring a sense of community and belonging. This initiative has been lauded for its effectiveness in addressing food insecurity and malnutrition, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
