Rajsamand: Rohit Bohra, the legislator from Rajsamand Vidhan Sabha, and Shobharani Kushwaha, the Congress legislator from Dholpur Vidhan Sabha, have launched a scathing attack on the Bhajan Lal government. Alleging that the BJP government is anti-farmer, they particularly criticized the dismissal of 5,000 Panchayat assistants, terming it a move against the interests of the farming community.
Accusing the BJP government of being insensitive to farmers, the legislators pointed out the removal of 5,000 Panchayat assistants as a detrimental step. They argued that the government, in its anti-farmer stance, has also failed to ensure an adequate power supply for irrigation. Rohit Bohra, in particular, emphasized that there was a proposal to construct substations in Ambika and Mania to address electricity issues, and work had commenced after financial approval. However, a major hurdle emerged with the proposed 400 kV station slated to be built in the Dholpur district headquarters.
The delay in the construction of the station in Dholpur has halted progress due to the state government’s apparent incapacity to facilitate the work effectively. Farmers, grappling with insufficient electricity, are compelled to stay awake during the night, as power is supplied by the electricity department during nighttime hours.
Rohit Bohra further criticized the BJP’s Bhajan Lal Lal government, asserting that immediately upon gaining power, they terminated the employment of 5,000 Panchayat assistants, a move in stark contrast to the job opportunities provided by the previous Ashok Gehlot government. The legislators highlighted the plight of farmers and the government’s failure to address their concerns adequately.
Bohra concluded by stating that the BJP government, under Bhajan Lal, has displayed a lack of empathy for the farming community and has taken steps that adversely impact both employment and the agricultural sector. The critique underscores the ongoing challenges faced by farmers in Rajasthan and the political discourse surrounding the state’s governance.
