Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha Speaker Vasudev Devnani convened a meeting on Friday in the Vidhan Sabha to discuss the establishment of a digital channel for the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. In the meeting, the Speaker provided directives for the preparation of proposals for the creation of the digital channel, covering the necessary infrastructure, equipment, legal procedures, security measures, technical and editorial teams, and the required financial arrangements.
During the meeting, the Speaker engaged with officials and broadcasting specialists to ensure a comprehensive plan for the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha digital channel. Devnani emphasized the importance of considering all legal and financial requirements while preparing the proposals for launching the channel. He instructed that the initial broadcast duration of the channel, ranging from 12 to 14 hours daily, should be ensured at the primary stage, with further proposals for extended coverage to be presented in the subsequent meeting.
The Speaker also directed a study of the framework, financial, and administrative arrangements of Lok Sabha TV, Rajya Sabha TV, private television, and digital channels. Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha is set to become the first legislative assembly in the country to have its own digital channel. The channel will not only provide live coverage of the proceedings in the assembly but also broadcast the activities and initiatives of the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha and the state government.
In addition to legislative affairs, the digital channel will feature programs aimed at familiarizing the state’s school and college students with the activities of the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha. Programs covering the state’s political and historical knowledge, as well as those related to the constitution, will also be broadcast on this digital channel. The initiative is expected to serve as a platform for disseminating information about the legislative activities of the Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha and enhancing the political and historical awareness of the state’s citizens.
