This unusually long-standing legal battle was regarding the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river project, which has been finally resolved. Another dispute was resolved jointly by the Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. It may be noted that the statutory action on the Parvati Kalisindh Chambal river project was performed on Sunday in the presence of both the chief ministers in a state-level program organized at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Mohan Yadav, admitted that there were some issues with the neighboring state that could have been solved earlier. He said this has caused difficulty to the public as well as farmers who experienced a freeze in their operations. However, since January, both states have considered the issue critically, and the problem has been solved adequately to guarantee an adequate water supply. The former Congress government was accused by Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma of poor works concerning the previous water crisis faced by the public. He promised that they would not look back and they have eliminated water scarcity problems as one of their major concerns.

The river project with an estimated ₹72,000 crore, the KMP will see Madhya Pradesh investing ₹35,000 crore and Rajasthan investing ₹37,000 crore. Through this project, 3 irrigated, including the Flooding of 37 lakh hectares of land located in the state of Madhya Pradesh, resulting in around 30 lakh farmers. In Rajasthan, 2. Farmland of 80 lakh hectares will be irrigated, and over 2 lakh farmers will be benefitted. Thirteen districts in both states will be the beneficiaries of the project. The project comprises the development of 17 dams with water storage of 1,477.62 million cubic meters.

While inaugurating the event, Mr. CM Bhajanlal raised a conscious note that Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh have had historical, cultural, and social relations. In particular, he glorified the post of tourism in the economies of the two states. Bhajanlal added that there were enormous possibilities for import cooperation, namely in the construction of combined tourist facilities that would help to attract more tourists and create more employment within the territories.

The Rajasthan CM expressed the willingness to include sites in Rajasthan in Madhya Pradesh’s Krishna Path Gaman Scheme.
