Chandigarh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Punjab on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Shri Ravidas ji. To pay respect to Shri Guru Ravidas ji, he is visiting Punjab on the same day the budget is to be presented in Parliament. The BJP core committee meeting passed a resolution thanking the Prime Minister for this.

Sunil Jakhar said in the meeting that the party has passed a resolution of condemnation against the Punjab government for its failure to maintain law and order in the state.

Jakhar raised questions during the meeting, saying that if the security situation is this bad even before the Prime Minister’s visit, it’s easy to imagine the kind of fear that will prevail among the public. The BJP state president said the government is using the police to suppress the voices of its political opponents instead of restoring law and order.

The police cases filed against internet media influencers are a testament to this government’s attitude, which is stifling people’s right to free speech. He said that this government will not be allowed to stifle people’s freedom of expression. Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has become merely a figurehead Chief Minister.
