Incidents of continuous theft and looting in Firozabad have raised concerns, with a growing sense of fear among shopkeepers. Recently, a particularly alarming incident unfolded in Guna Point, Firozpur Cantt, where a shopkeeper fell victim to a robbery late at night.
Following this incident, a wave of anger and resentment has swept through the local business community. Shopkeepers and traders, feeling significantly insecure after the incident, have expressed their discontent and are actively protesting against the prevailing situation. In response to the rising unrest, shopkeepers have collectively announced the closure of their establishments.
Expressing their dissatisfaction, the business community has decided to stage a protest on National Highway 7 at Chungi Number 7. Shop owner Ashok recounted the harrowing experience, stating that he was closing his shop for the night when two robbers on a motorcycle approached him. The criminals demanded that he keep the shop open, threatening to harm him if he refused. They asserted that he needed to keep the shop open because they intended to store their loot there, warning him that failure to comply would result in dire consequences.
When the shopkeeper resisted, the robbers brandished a pistol, compelling him to comply with their demands. Subsequently, the criminals looted the shop, taking away items such as ghee, oil, almonds, and various other goods before making a quick escape. This incident has stirred tension in the local market, and the audacity of the robbers has left the business community fuming.
The affected traders are not only angered by the audacious act but are also pointing fingers at the police, accusing them of negligence. They argue that such incidents are on the rise due to the laxity of the police, and they question the effectiveness of law enforcement when incidents of this nature occur regularly. The business community’s dissatisfaction has escalated, raising concerns about the overall safety and security situation in Firozabad. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for improved law enforcement and measures to ensure the safety of businesses and citizens in the region.
