Sidhu, a recently suspended party member of the Congress party has made serious charges against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government led by Bhagwant Mann in Punjab, demanding the security and accusing the administration of giving security to the mighty liquor and mining mafia in the state.

Sidhu in a post on X was worried about her personal security and that any trauma to her would be direct fault of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. She would also wonder why the matters she had brought up in the past were not being addressed even after they were formally brought to the attention of the Punjab Governor.

Also accompanying her posting, Sidhu released a letter written at length to Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, where she had charged what she had called the largest land scam in the history of Punjab. She alleged that massive unlawful land grabbing of the ecologically sensitive Shivalik belt such as the protected forest lands was being formalised under the present government.

Sidhu says that they had illegally acquired parcels of land of between one acre to 10,000 acres at very low prices through land mafias. She claimed that such concessions were being given legal legality now, and it was causing grave concerns of environmental destruction and corruption within the institutions.

She mentioned the signing of files related to these alleged irregularities had been refused by her husband Navjot Singh Sidhu, who was also the Local Bodies Minister of Punjab, but had commissioned an investigation into the case instead.

Another issue that Sidhu also raised was the worsening state of law and order in Punjab. She asserted that the state was experiencing an increase in crime, use of weapons illegally and public insecurity that was compelling many of the citizens to move out of the state.

Sidhu wrote to the Governor requesting him to call upon a special sitting of Punjab Assembly to deliberate on urgent matters.
