This crackdown has caused a sensation among the inmates in Firozpur Jail. Prior to this, due to consistent complaints, searches were conducted in the jail. During this recent search operation led by jail administration, a mobile phone and 175 capsules of narcotics were seized.
The operation has resulted in the registration of cases against Sandeep alias Billa and unidentified individuals by the City Firozpur police. A written report sent by jail authorities to the police mentioned the discovery of a mobile phone and 175 narcotics capsules during the search in Block Number 1, Chakki Number 7 of the jail.
ASI Gurmel Singh stated that the jail officials informed the police through a written report. When they searched Block Number 1 and Chakki Number 7, they found Sandeep alias Billa in possession of an Airtel SIM card and a keypad mobile phone from a fictitious company. Further searches outside the barracks led to the discovery of a pit near a kiln, where 175 narcotics capsules were buried.
