Farmer Protest: Jalandhar MP and former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi met farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who was on a fast unto death during the farmers’ movement. This meeting took place at Khanauri border. Channi said that he had come to show Dallewal the report prepared on issues related to farmers, which has been presented in the Parliament.
“Met S. Jagjit Singh Dallewal Ji at the Khanauri border, where he is selflessly risking his life for the farmers of our country. Conveyed the concern expressed by Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji regarding his health and well-being. Additionally, I presented the report of the Parliamentary Standing Committee to the Central Government, which includes a legal guarantee for MSP along with pro-farmer and pro-laborer recommendations”, wrote Charanjit Singh Channi on X.
Channi said, “I am the chairman of the Agriculture Committee. Today I have shown Dallewal a report based on the issues related to farmers and their demands. It contains suggestions for MSP, problems of farmers and their solutions. This report has been presented in the Parliament.”
Appeal to Dallewal: Take care of your health
Channi urged Dallewal to take care of his health. He said, “Farmers and society need you. Farmers of the entire country including Punjab are looking towards you. Therefore, you should take care of your health, so that the farmers’ movement can be strengthened.”
Kisan Samyukta Morcha (SKM) meeting is going to be held on 24 December. In this, joining the front and the next strategy of the movement will be discussed. Earlier on December 21, SKM leaders had also organized a meeting at Khanauri border.
