Chandigarh: The Punjab government is preparing to celebrate the 350th Prakash Parv of the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji with full zest. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will launch a massive yatra from Srinagar, which will pass through various cities of Punjab from November 19 to 22. This will be followed by huge congregations at Sri Anandpur Sahib on November 23, 24 and 25.

Giving information about the events, Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains said that light and sound shows will be organized in all the districts of Punjab. Along with this, the life and history of Guru Teg Bahadur ji will be taught in educational institutions. More than one crore devotees are expected to come to Sri Anandpur Sahib. On this occasion, Anandpur Sahib will be decorated as a grand city.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will lead the yatra starting from Srinagar. The yatra will pass through various cities of Punjab and end at Sri Anandpur Sahib. A tent city will be set up at Anandpur Sahib for the convenience of the devotees so that no one faces any inconvenience. Minister Bains said that any citizen can give their suggestions for the gatherings till July 31. He said that special gatherings will be organized wherever Guru Teg Bahadur Ji set foot. The Punjab government will organize these events at its own level, in which anyone can participate.

Haryana Gurdwara Committee’s support, no talks with SGPC


The Haryana Gurdwara Management Committee has confirmed its support for the events, so there will be no shortage of budget. However, on the question of talks with the Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee (SGPC), Bains said that the government is ready, but the SGPC does not want to negotiate.
