Chandigarh: The troubles of former DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, arrested on bribery charges, are increasing further. The CBI headquarters in Chandigarh has intensified the investigation into his benami properties. Agency officials are thoroughly examining documents recovered from Bhullar’s home and various tehsil offices to determine the actual ownership of these properties. During the investigation, all his properties and the farmhouse are being searched. It has also been discovered that several cameras have been removed from his farmhouse.
According to reports, the properties mentioned in the documents obtained by the CBI are not directly in Bhullar’s name. They include the names of several government employees and other individuals. The agency may soon summon all of them for questioning. At present, the department has not released detailed information regarding these properties. On October 23, the CBI conducted a nine-hour search of Bhullar’s Sector 40 residence. During this search, officials examined every corner of the house, even recording details of bulbs, flowerpots, and air conditioners.

During the investigation of Bhullar’s Income Tax Returns (ITR), the CBI found that several transactions did not match his declared sources of income. The agency suspects that some politicians and officials may also have financial stakes in these properties. Therefore, the scope of the investigation will no longer be limited to Bhullar alone.
