The CBI has raided the home of Punjab DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, who is embroiled in a bribery case, for the second time in Chandigarh. According to sources, an 11-member team from Delhi arrived at his Sector 40 home around 2:30 pm. The team videotaped the entire house and inspected every floor.

According to sources, CBI officials arrived with cameras, documents, and a printer. They carefully examined and recorded everything in the house. This action was taken to audit Bhullar’s assets and investigate any unaccounted properties. Bhullar’s wife and son are being questioned during the raid, while the housekeeper said his daughter is also being questioned. This raid comes seven days after the first one. The CBI is now gathering new information regarding Bhullar’s disproportionate assets and bribery. It is believed that this investigation could lead to major revelations.

It is noteworthy that on October 16, the Chandigarh CBI team arrested Punjab Police DIG Bhullar from Mohali. He is accused of accepting a bribe of ₹8 lakh from a scrap dealer. Eight CBI teams raided seven locations, including Ambala, Mohali, Chandigarh, and Rupnagar. The agency also searched Bhullar’s home, office, farmhouse, and other locations.

Following this, the Punjab government suspended DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar on October 18, at the recommendation of the Home Department. The government stated that this action reflected its “zero tolerance” policy against corruption in the state.
