Chandigarh: The BJP on Wednesday announced Sanjay Tandon as the party candidate for the lone Lok Sabha seat of Chandigarh, replacing incumbent MP Kirron Kher.
Kirron Kher has congratulated Sanjay Tandon on being selected as the candidate. Kirron shared a photo with Sanjay and posted it on microblogging site X and extended his best wishes. Reacting to the party fielding him from here, Tandon (59), who has also served as the Chandigarh BJP president for nearly a decade in the past, said, “It is a moment of great happiness for me. The party has given me an opportunity by nominating me as a candidate for the Lok Sabha polls from Chandigarh.” “I thank my party’s leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president J P Nadda and Union Home Minister Amit Shah,” he told reporters outside his residence.
Kirron Kher has been a very good candidate of BJP. He has been an MP twice. She made a special place for himself by spending a long time in politics, but instead of giving any negative reaction to this decision of a party, she strongly accepted this decision of the party and also posted it on social media.
