The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has unveiled its 4-member panel, which will contest the ensuing Lok Sabha elections 2024 on its behalf in Punjab. From among them, sitting MLA Ashok Parashar has settled to contest the election for the Ludhiana area, and the three candidates mentioned above are also slated to contest the elections.
Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar, a prominent leader of the Aam Aadmi Party, will be contesting from the Ferozpur constituency. In Gurdaspur, the party has chosen Amansher Singh, also known as Shery Kalsi, as its candidate. Pawan Kumar Tinu has been nominated to represent AAP in Jalandhar. Ashok Parashar Pappi will also be AAP’s contender for the Ludhiana constituency.
This announcement provokes an opening by AAP, which is fighting for its hold in the Punjab polling area. The party, in a bid to present a spectrum of incumbents and new entrants, endeavours to portray the voters of Punjab with a benign and energetic senate.
Ashok Parashar’s candidature from Ludhiana signifies the strategy of Arvind Kejriwal’s party to simply utilize the popularity and credibility of their sitting MLA in the critical constituency in the state. Parashar may be instrumental in aligning AAP with the voters of Ludhiana’s locality. Besides his track record, Parashar has ably used his grassroots connections with people from all across sections of Ludhiana’s society, which will yield electoral benefits to AAP.
Similarly, the selection of candidates like Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar, Amansher Singh (Shery Kalsi), and Pawan Kumar Tinu reflects AAP’s effort to appeal to different demographics and regions within Punjab. Each candidate brings their own set of experiences and strengths to the table, adding depth to AAP’s campaign in the state.
