On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had made a caustic attack on Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav following a controversy that broke out in Bihar earlier in the week. The problem emerged after a video was disseminated on social media that depicted the feet of Lalu Prasad Yadav placed against a picture of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the 78th birthday celebrations of the RJD head.
Reacting to a rally in Siwan, Bihar, the PM Modi said, the entire country saw how the RJD had treated the photo of Babasaheb Ambedkar this time. Those individuals will not be apologetic since they do not respect the Dalits or the backward classes.” He also said that when the RJD and the Congress place the photo of Babasaheb at their feet, Modi has him inside his heart.
PM Modi proceeded further and strongly criticized the RJD as well as the Congress for the old-time mismanagement in the state of Bihar. It is due to the RJD and the Congress that the state of Bihar has been in a terrible condition of poverty, unemployment, and lawlessness. According to him, they have caused massive emigration of labourers to various other states, trying to seek employment in Bihar.
He blamed the two parties for pursuing their interests more and increasing their own families’ wealth and assets as opposed to serving the state. When the Congress entered a license raj, their leaders got rich, but the people of Bihar were poor. He added, the RJD-cong style of governance was forgetting about the common people and focusing on their own selfish interests.
PM Modi assured that he is here to serve Bihar and that he will not stop till the time of uplifting the people of Bihar, focusing on their power, dignity, and their bright future.
