Gwalior: While the series of events of the murder reminds us of the scenes from the classic crime book, the superiorities of the Gwalior Police in Madhya Pradesh have led to the arrests of the two associates, along with the victim’s wife and her sister’s husband. The nightmare of the widow started when she played the central role in her husband’s murder, making it look like an accident by ditching his body on the side roadside and claiming the insurance amount as a widow.
However, upon discovering the body near Bhauri Pulia on April 4, 2024, suspicions arose as there were inconsistencies with the scene resembling a hit-and-run.
Ramdhari Jatav, the deceased, had been embroiled in disputes with his wife, Seema Jatav and her brother-in-law. Ramdhari had recently transferred his property, including a house with an insurance policy, to Seema’s name. This insurance policy promised Seema a hefty sum of 20 lakh rupees in case of her husband’s demise.
However, greed stirred in her the evil thoughts of eliminating her husband. She finally disclosed where Ramhardhar was hiding to her brother-in-law, Surendra Jatav. Besides Surendra, the perpetrator of the assassination, Narendra Jatav and Dinesh Jatav were also involved in his murder. After intoxicating Ramdari, they strangled him to death and dumped him in the jungle. The following night, they threw their partner into a canal at the end of the scenic Bhauri Pulia.
The situation becomes more critical as new evidence emerges that Ramdhari’s shoes are missing from his body, thereby leading to a twist in the plot. Subsequently, the police located and arrested Seema Jatav, Surendra Jatav, Narendra Jatav, and others on the run while searching for the last fugitive.
This case illustrates in the strongest way possible the heights one may stoop to to accomplish monetary gain. It proves that a truly effective investigation that leaves a pursuing justice officer breathless is necessary. The detaining of the guilty individuals may bring some sort of an end to the widespread of the awful crime, while justice is still a journey that goes on as law enforcement keeps their search for all others who took part in the criminal act.
