Bhopal. The deaths due to contaminated water in Indore, Madhya Pradesh’s economic capital, have not subsided. 18 people have died due to contaminated water in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, while many others are undergoing treatment in hospitals, yet the blame game continues. In fact, bacteria have been found in groundwater-based drinking water in the capital, Bhopal. Drinking water from four areas of the city has been found to be contaminated with bacteria. Water samples from Khanugaon, Bajpayee Nagar, and two Adampur Khanti areas have failed testing.

Due to the contamination, water supply from groundwater sources has been stopped in these areas. On January 6th, the Municipal Corporation tested water samples from a total of 250 areas in the city. Keeping health in mind, people are drinking water by boiling it as a precaution.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh has expressed concern about the presence of contaminated water in the Narmada River in Jabalpur. He said that if immediate action is not taken, a major disaster could occur in the cultural capital. Meanwhile, the issue of contaminated water supply in the city has reached the High Court.

Former Chief Minister and current Rajya Sabha MP Digvijay Singh has raised questions about Jabalpur’s water. He posted on his social media account, “Sewage water from Gwarighat in Jabalpur joins the Narmada River. The sewage tank is built on the ghat, which is unfiltered. This sewage water joins the Narmada River and is supplied to the people of Jabalpur from the Lalpur drinking water supply plant 500 meters away. This too, could lead to a major incident in a few days.” He has requested Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya, and Jabalpur Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh to take cognizance of this. He has also tagged the Congress and Madhya Pradesh Congress.
