Bhopal: What followed was a major outrage in the Narmadapuram District Hospital in Madhya Pradesh, India, when a woman died, leading to angry protests from her kin. The woman was finally admitted to the hospital, where she had sustained major injuries caused by falling from a tree. They said that as soon as they received the word regarding the unrest in the area, the policemen from the Kotwali police station did not waste time and came to the spot.

Shakun Bai Yadav, who hailed from Gujarwada, had scaled a tree to pick mangos when she slipped off the branch and sustained serious injuries. First, she was rushed to a smaller treatment facility at Makhan Nagar Community Health Center before being transferred to the larger Narmadapuram District Hospital.

In the family version, the doctor who was on duty at the time Shakun Bai was taken to the hospital ordered her to be taken for an X-ray. However, the family complains that a ward boy at the hospital took 200 rupees from them before dressing the wounds and administering a shot. The accused, a ward boy, is said to have injected the lady in the neck, which is said to have worsened her condition, and died on the spot. After the event, the ward boy who works in the hospital disappeared from the hospital unnoticed.

His nephew, who had been a worker at the plantation, described the events leading up to the tragedy, saying that they owned a garden and the deceased, Shakun Bai, had been climbing the tree to harvest mangoes. Again, after falling, she was taken to Makhan Nagar Health Center, where she received first aid before being shifted to Narmadapuram for a comprehensive check-up.

The family members, who were hysterical with anger and grief, brought insolence to the hospital, asking the ward boy whether he caused the death of their dear one and whether he was qualified enough to work in that position. They accused the ward boy of inequality after he had been paid to administer the wrong injection that claimed the woman’s life.
