Dhar: The Vasant Panchami celebrations have been grand at the world-renowned Vagdevi (Saraswati) Temple at Bhojshala in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh. The festival started with sunrise havan – a sacred fire ritual as auspicious occasion to remember the birth anniversary of Goddess Vagdevi. Devotees of the temple have been carrying out continuous prayers and offerings at the temple all throughout the day.

The grand procession, Shobha Yatra will start from Lalbagh with thousands of devotees participating as part of the Vasant Utsav celebrations. After which more religious ceremonies will take place at Bhojshala and the procession will go through the main streets of Dhar and back to that place. Bhoj Utsav Samiti has organized the event under its banner. Devotees still go to seek blessings from the goddess and will continue to worship and rituals till sunset.

Devotees have continued to arrive at Bhojshala to offer their prayers from the time of early morning. In the afternoon, Sant Uttam Swami Maharaj will attend a religious congregation at Moti Bagh Chowk where religious discourses will be organized. The people of Dhar City show their devotion of enthusiasm through the saffron colouration of the entire city.

With so many people, strict measures are in place to maintain the crowd. Several police personnel are deployed and over 70 CCTV cameras are monitoring the area. Drone surveillance is going on to ensure safety, as police forces have been stationed on high-rise buildings. The Bhojshala and a 200-meter radius area around him have been declared a high security area which is divided into five security sectors. At no stone would the administration leave it unturned to make the day a smooth and peaceful celebration.
