Gwalior: A daughter of the city has brought honor to Madhya Pradesh. Gwalior’s daughter, Vanshika Tiwari, won five medals in the youth individual category and other categories at the 68th National Shooting Championship in Shotgun, held in Delhi. These include two gold and three silver medals. The 18-year-old’s goal is to win a gold medal for India at the Olympics.
Gwalior’s daughter, Vanshika Tiwari, lives in the Kampu area of the city. She is the first such shooting player from MP. She was selected in the MP Shooting Academy, Bhopal, in the year 2019 at the age of just 13. Vanshika represented Madhya Pradesh in the 68th National Shooting Championship Shotgun, being held from 1 December to 5 January at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi. There, she won a total of 5 medals, including Gold in the Youth Category Individual, Gold in the Junior Team, Silver in the Senior Team, Silver in the Mixed Team, and Silver in the Junior Individual, bringing glory to the state and Gwalior.
Dream: Winning gold in the Olympics
Vanshika also won medals in various categories against athletes from various state teams. Vanshika has also proven her shooting prowess at the World University Championships. In 2024, Vanshika won a silver medal at this championship. Upon winning the medal, Vanshika said that she had already won silver and gold medals for her country and state. Her biggest dream now is to win gold for the country while competing in the Olympics.
